RMAH-Cash out

Post by Quelmiran on May 9th 2012, 11:14 am

I added a new tool on the header where you can use it and see how much you can earn when you sell something on the Real money auction house. It's the one with the green font.
You just add the amount of cash you want to sell something and this will inform you about the normal profit after Blizzard's fee and then the cash out profit if you decide to transfer it to your paypal account.

Nothing special but it can be useful.

It even changes its own oil every four weeks.
It's a shame that the management system is so f**king temperamental..

Just a general info about which is more profitable to sell, items like weapon/armor etc or materials the answer is this:

Note: The blizzard's fee for items is 1$ and for materials it's 15% of the value.
Paypal's fee for cashout it's 15% of the value regardless of what you are selling.

So after this info we have the following:

If you want to sell commodoties below 6$ it's more profitable that items. Cause below 6$ blizzard's 15% fee is lower than 1$.

Lets see an example:
Let's say that I want to sell a weapon for 10$. After blizzard's fee this items will be 9$ and after paypal's fee I will cashout 7.65$
If that item wasn't a weapon but commodity after blizzard's fee would have been 8.5$ and after paypal's fee it's 7.22$

On the other side if I wanted to sell a weapon for 3$ after blizzard's fee it will be 2$ and after paypal it will be 1.7$
If that item was a commodity after blizzard's fee 2.55% and after paypal's 2.17$

/Long story short
If you want to compare which is the most profitable to sell, items or commodities, then it's more profitable to sell items higher than 6$ and commodities for less than 6$.

The info above is only if you want to maximize your profits. Of course that doesn't mean that if you found a weapon and you want to sell this for let's say 4$ you wont have a profit.

I am curious and Dan thinks theres no way they will have any value... But you think crafting mats will have any value? Basically to be a crafting gambler...

For example... would someone buy 1000 stack of craftable material to have the ability to craft and roll that many times on a potential extremely valuable item...

and if they did... would it be worth being in that market?

It depends. For example I wasn't even picking up unique items in D2 after a while since I already knew what item it will be before identifying it. They weren't that valuable since everyone had them and every run drop a few of them. Now I have no idea how rare legendary items will be so and it's a bit soon to say if the crafted items will be more valuable than legendary to worth crafting them.

I remember I saw an interview with Jay saying that when he was playing the inside version of the game he dropped a unique (Legendary) item and he was soooo happy for that. Will the legendary be truly legendary? But if you take into consideration that the best items are the rares if you get the mods that you wanted and you are lucky enough to get them..
In the end if you want to get the most badass items in the game seems that you will have to craft them.

My estimation is that the crafted items and material to craft will start becoming a lot more valuable as time goes by and ppl will start getting beefcaked.

Im sure over time more ppl will be willing to spend real cash on crafting mats, hoping to get lucky and craft their own godlies. My point to you mike was that the already godly crafted item will always sell for a higher value than a stack of craft mats, at least in my trading experience in Diablo.

I still think selling craft mats is a good idea tho, due to the fact its an item that we will always get/find, even on your worst MF day. Even if they sell for pennies at a time, guaranteed pennies everyday is better than nothing.
